Major Disaster Declaration From FEMA to Help Communities Recover from the Flooding in the Fall of 2005 – Senator Kennedy led delegation efforts to push FEMA to approve disaster assistance for Massachusetts communities affected by the October flooding in 2005.  FEMA approved requests to make Massachusetts residents living in communities hit hard by the storms, like Taunton and Brockton, eligible for federal emergency assistance programs. 

Worcester County – Major Disaster Declaration From FEMA to Help Communities Recover from the Flooding in the Fall of 2005 – Senator Kennedy led delegation efforts to push FEMA to approve disaster assistance for Massachusetts communities affected by the October 2005 flooding.  FEMA approved requests to make Massachusetts residents living in communities hit hard by the storms, such as Worcester, Northbridge, and Southbridge, and municipal governments eligible for federal emergency assistance programs to help recover from flood damages, which totaled in the millions throughout Worcester County.
